Free AI Watermark Tool
Add a visible AI watermark to an image or video, using the European Commission's official icons or your own wording. Everything happens in this tab.
About labelling AI content
Article 50(4) asks you, as the advertiser, to disclose that a creative is AI-generated. A visible watermark is how you do it, and this tool adds one. It does not decide whether your creative needs one.
The icons
The Commission's official labels
The European Commission publishes a set of icons for labelling AI-generated content, free to use and with no attribution required. They distinguish content made entirely by AI from your own content that AI modified, and they are the default here. You can use your own wording instead if it suits the creative better.
The Commission notes that using the icons does not by itself establish compliance. A label has to be clear and distinguishable at the latest at first interaction, and only you can confirm that holds for what you are running.
Where it runs
Nothing is uploaded
The watermark is drawn onto a canvas in this browser tab and handed straight back to you as a download. Your file is never sent to a server, never stored and never shared. Close the tab and nothing of it remains.
Video takes as long as the clip itself, because the watermark is applied while the video plays. That is the trade for keeping the file on your own machine.
Content Credentials
Watermarking removes them
If your file carries C2PA Content Credentials, adding a watermark here removes them. That is not a shortcoming of this tool: credentials are a signature over the exact bytes of a file, and a watermark changes those bytes. Copying the old signature across would make the file read as altered, which is worse than carrying none at all.
Restoring them means signing the result, which needs a private key and cannot happen in a browser. Creatives made in Adsumo and watermarked in the dashboard are re-signed, so their credentials survive. This tool will tell you when a file you drop in has credentials to lose.
What next
Check what the Act asks of it
Watermarking is one duty of several, and whether it applies at all depends on what the creative shows and where it runs. The EU AI Act compliance check reads a file's credentials and walks you through the rest.
This is information, not legal advice. See how Adsumo handles the AI Act for how we approach the same question on our own output.
