2. What this policy covers

This privacy policy explains how Adsumo collects, processes, stores, and protects personal data when you use our platform and services.

3. What data we collect

We process different types of data depending on how you use the service:

  • Account information: name, email, and hashed password (for account creation and login).
  • Payment details: handled via Stripe (we do not store card data; Stripe processes it).
  • Usage and technical data: logs, IP address, browser information, sessions, and interactions.
  • Uploaded content: images, videos, text, prompts, and similar content you upload to generate AI outputs.
  • Marketing/analytics: cookie-based data from PostHog, Google Analytics, and Meta Pixel — only with valid consent.

4. Tech stack & processors

To deliver our service, we rely on third-party providers. Key processors include:

  • Next.js & Vercel: Hosting and web application.
  • Supabase: Authentication and database (sessions, user data).
  • Cloudflare (R2 & DNS): File storage and CDN.
  • Stripe: Payments and subscription management (card data handled by Stripe).
  • PostHog: Product analytics (consent-based).
  • Google Analytics: Statistics (consent-based, anonymized as needed).
  • Meta Pixel: Marketing tracking (consent-based).
  • AI providers: e.g., OpenAI, Google Gemini — used to generate content based on your uploads/prompts.

Some processors may be located outside the EU. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

5. Uploaded content and AI generation

When you upload content to Adsumo (images, video, text, etc.), it is used to generate output for you. By uploading, you confirm you have the necessary rights and, where relevant, consent from depicted individuals.

We do not use your uploads to train our models unless you explicitly provide separate consent.

6. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

We rely on the following GDPR bases:

  • Contract performance: necessary to deliver the service (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Legal obligation: e.g., bookkeeping (Art. 6(1)(c)).
  • Legitimate interest: product improvement and security, where your rights are not overridden (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Consent: marketing and analytics cookies (Art. 6(1)(a)).

7. Retention

We retain data for different periods depending on the type:

  • Account information: until the account is deleted or in line with our inactivity policy.
  • Uploaded files: until you delete them or the account is closed (unless otherwise agreed).
  • Accounting data (invoices): kept as required by law (typically 5 years).
  • Analytics/marketing data: retained until you withdraw consent or per provider policy.

8. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Information may be shared with third parties if:

  • It is necessary to deliver the service (e.g., Stripe, Supabase, Cloudflare).
  • We have your consent.
  • We are legally required (e.g., court order).

9. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access (to see what data we hold).
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) where applicable.
  • Right to restrict processing.
  • Right to data portability.

While we work to safeguard data, we cannot guarantee 100% protection against all threats.
